Arodnap’s Xob by: Keilana Lorenzana

A young woman

There once was

With beauty divine,

Well worth more than a mere dime

She was not Pandora

But this woman still

Had feminine beauty and great skill

She found a box

That was old

And not forgotten,

But she knew the contents were once rotten

Out of a similar curiosity,

Like that of a cat,

She opened the box

And simply just sat

Nothing occurred in that moment

Right there,

But something began to stir-

In the air

It all went reverse-

The results of what she had started,

For Pandora’s box was left unguarded

Then, the world was flung through,

To the other side,

Sky turned to tide,

Tide up to sky

The dusty, old box

Swallowed something out,

All the while, there was no being to shout

Tis the wrath of someone’s gods,

No longer true,

Of an ancient Greek tale the children all knew

Alas, what it took

Was something we needed,

The people all anguished,

Pleading, defeated.

The one small thing

Once put inside with sneaky care,

Hope itself

Was no longer there.

A Sign of Whispers by: Billy Colston

As I ponder along in the meeting my eyes float by her
A girl of my past and present
My heart burning torn between two realities
And yet her eyes tear me apart more than either of them
They shred through me like a samurai sword through the human body
Knocking aside any thought of trying to hide
Trying to block my eyes from seeing her as her eyes stare into who I am
They capture my thoughts in one glance and I am back to pondering
The one partial glimpse of eye contact was enough
She knows
She knows she is my greatest fear
Living constantly in my life ever present and near
A shadow that presents itself everyday I see her walk by
Everyday I see her among her friends
I can't run and I can't hide
But simply face her..
She is a constant trial of my strength
A constant pressure whispering in my ear thoughts of love
Thoughts of denial and heartbreak
Pain and harmony in one package
Memories and future in one place
At one time
And I have never known
But maybe she is a sign.

Fake Reality by: Billy Colston

Flashing lights
Smashing nights
Bringing down the world we know
And creating quite a show
Burn a hole in the lies
And watch as the flame flies
Not understanding much of the world
But I am filled with cold
A cold heart learning of loss
Of the fake that is toss
Realizing cruelty as I see it
And pushing through as I see fit
You don't think of the lies you create
But only decide to decimate
Crush those around you
And glancing at the damage you ensue
Then you move on away from the world
Into a fake reality that is swirled
One that the hearts of those you hurt are not so surrounded
Surrounded by walls mounted
Mounted with defenses to keep others from getting too close
Due to your arrogance and what you chose

Aloof by: Billy Colston

My head spinning
My mind twisting
Forming unbearable spikes of anger and destruction
Not being able to gain much traction
Lines being drawn out long
Driving my lyrical song
Bringing out the inner me
Show the truth you see
Gaining strength
Advancing this length
I'm pushing away
Too bad I can't stay
Your gonna have to catch
This spirit I rock all day
And finally be able to stretch
The power they say
That brings us ever closer to the truth
To the undeniable presence
That change is aloof
Always in a strong since leaving a string of evidence.

Coffee Scene by: Billy Colston

Coffee,
The rush,
The spin of caffeine whirling through my mind,
The people crowding around,
I change my mind,
Sounds brushing past my line,
What to choose,
What to get,
Choices, choices, choices,
I choose the one I want and smile,
Smells waft around me,
Burning an internal memorization of each kind,
Each hot, each cold,
Now to cash it out.
Money handed, cards exchanged,
Now I wait sitting around.
Watching the scene of business,
Of people smiling,
Of people lying,
And then I drink,
Toasting to all that is Coffee,
An eternal blessing to mankind.
